Saturn was my second piece of cinema.
I cut my teeth making beautiful corporate films, adverts, a gallery guide. I learned every skill, on the street, with the best.
I was determined to make fiction films/cinema as soon as I could. A Day In The Life of An Artist (coming soon) was my first cinematic short.
Saturn means a lot to me.
I wrote it when we were suddenly shut away in Lockdown. I thought deeply about love, my future as a long term film director.
I wrote the film, was the lead actor, casted it, edited it.
I also wrote the whole, continuous score.
It was exhilarating but lesson learned: never write a full score from scratch again. The film and the score are one of my highest achievements. From now on I’ll stick to directing and acting.

Many of you are struggling to live and work as artists.
We are being forced to dig deeper. So make it work with the time you have. Reinforce yourself with peers. Make it work with whatever job you have to do. Head down. Be clever with your time.
Understand that doubt is a part of evaluation and progression.
Struggle, cry, rage but erase the words ‘give up’ from your mind and tongue.
If AI is killing our jobs and no one has any money to hire us, then real, tough, visionary artists are needed more than ever. We are required to be leaders if we want to do this important job now.
